Teen Start-Up: Live Big! - 9 October 2018

Innovation is all about communication. In the Information Age where the pace of change is so fast; listening, collaborating, diversity and inclusion are crucial for communicating big ideas.

Teen Start-Up’s Live Big! workshop will encourage students to explore what it means to innovate in the ‘Communication Age’ through game-based activities and problem solving challenges, teaching them skills that will help prepare them to live and work successfully in the 21st century.

The Format:

The program is suitable for students aged 11-16 years. This workshop will cover topics including:

  • Listening (paying attention, engaging and reacting to conversation, offering feedback)
  • Observing (understanding physical cues and body language)
  • Social Engagement (building positive relationships, developing empathy for others)
  • Sense of Self (emotional understanding, resilience, tolerance and sense of self worth)

What to bring?

  • Water bottle, lunch and snacks (no nuts!) each day
  • Laptop or tablet for online research, must be able to connect to Wi-Fi (free Wi-Fi available)
